General Manager


£65,000 Annually + Excellent company benefits



The Role:

  • Support the Company’s long-term objectives and make appropriate contributions to divisional and corporate decision making.
  • Specific responsibility for the delivery of all Services associated to the cost centre.
  • Provide Strategic operational direction and deliver commercial performance for the division in line with Business objectives and agreed budgets /targets including the provision of timely monthly reconciliations and financial reports to the Regional Director
  • Develop and grow the business by actively encouraging a proactive and strategic business development attitude with all levels of employees
  • Ensure the implementation of appropriate operational policies and procedures to deliver short, medium- and long-term operational plan for the division.
  • Maintain the highest standards of presentation, personal integrity and customer support. Support, lead and motivate the key managers within the client unit
  • Manage the people development and training requirements of all staff and succession planning within contract to ensure opportunities are created and key personnel are retained
  • Work closely with the Commercial and Finance teams to ensure that cost data is current, benchmarks are in place and efficiency drivers enhance the performance capability, working with the commercial team to deliver the best value commercial solutions across the contract
  • Ensure that the budget is adhered to and all levels of expenditure are within the set divisional targets.
  • Produce monthly client/internal contract performance reports for service delivery/compliance/financial performance (including P&L accounts)
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all statutory requirements and corporate policies including, but not limited to, Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, and Employment Legislation
  • To play a significant role in supporting the Regional Director in the establishment and implementation of both core and non-Core (contract specific) business processes.
  • To Establish, maintain and develop effective professional working relationships with clients, staff and other key stakeholders
  • To maintain effectiveness and resilience in a changing environment and to identify and implement change in response to business needs


Qualities Required:

  • Excellent leadership and motivational people management skills and ability to drive change.
  • Professional acumen, with excellent senior level influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work openly and collaboratively at all levels to maximise overall organisation health
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills, based on strong commercial/financial acumen
  • Ability to embrace and deliver change
    Capable of translating strategic intent into immediate successful delivery
    Strong sense of urgency and desire to succeed
