Building Automation Project Manager
Location: New York

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the designer and operation manager to develop engineering designs, produce engineering shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Analyze current work procedures and standards, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement. Assist the operation manager in establishing standards and commissioning procedures.
- Manage BAS projects to ensure they align with the scope of work, stay within budget, and meet project completion deadlines.
- Provide accurate quotations for smaller projects or change orders based on bidding documents, engineer's specifications, and team performance history data.
- Gather project site performance data and case studies to assist the operation manager in creating standard procedures and technical documents.
- Offer technical support to field technicians and junior designers, analyzing customer needs, engineer's specifications, and floor plans to develop solutions for new or existing applications.
- Review job construction plans, specifications, survey information, sales sketches, estimates, and take-off sheets.
- Design building control systems, including DDC controller system sequences, control drawings, valve sizing, damper sizing, and schedules. Prepare submittals in accordance with engineering standards, ensuring commitment dates are met.
- Collaborate with the sales and delivery teams to review submittals and obtain hardware submittal approval.
- Provide technical assistance to the sales team during the bidding and estimating phase, analyzing and interpreting job documents and code requirements.
- Review and update BAS software algorithms and graphic standards.
- Collect feedback from installation electricians, project lead techs, and technicians to enhance project document quality and ensure smooth and efficient project execution within the specified codes, specifications, and company standards.
- Lead project technicians.
- Control costs and update necessary cost changes for labor, materials, and subcontractors.
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a project management role.
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, sales, engineering, operations, marketing, suppliers, and customers.
- Strong planning skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of both strategic (long-term) and tactical (daily) thinking.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiating, and influencing skills.
- Technical/engineering background is preferred.
- Some knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) is highly desirable.
