Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for a new opportunity? We have an exciting position available in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle on a hybrid basis. Role Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed design calculations and sketches as per project requirements.
  • Liaise with Senior Engineers and Engineering Technicians on design and drawings.
  • Assist Electrical Associates in surveys, design, specification, and contract administration.
  • Engage in surveying, design work, office-based project administration, and site attendance.
  • Carry out detailed Electrical Building Services Design Engineering for new and refurbishment projects.
  • Support senior staff in feasibility studies and design stages.
  • Attend design team meetings.
  • Inspect and report on electrical building services systems.
  • Utilise Building Services software for calculations.
  • Ensure the design and maintenance of building systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements.
  • Produce marked up drawings for CAD by others or directly design CAD drawings for issue.
  • Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards for electrical services for contractor costing and installation.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience meeting the knowledge requirements for an Incorporated Engineer aligned with IET or CIBSE.
  • Proficiency in designing principal electrical systems from concept to detailed design (BSRIA BG6 Stage 4A).
  • Knowledge in low voltage electrical distribution, lighting (internal, external, and emergency), small and fixed power, power supplies, fire alarm and detection, ICT structured cabling, and related cable containment systems.
  • Experience using Amtech and interpreting drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Understanding Building Regulations Part L compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
