Fire Alarm Installation Engineer

London – Essex – Kent - South East

£50,000 + Pension + Van + 20 days Holiday (increasing annually), plus birthday holiday and holiday purchase scheme.

 

Gain hands-on experience with advanced fire alarm systems in a role that offers continuous skill development and exposure to cutting-edge industry standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS5839 guidelines.
  • Maintain high standards of engineering practices and keep all company-provided equipment in top condition.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills at work sites.
  • Provide regular updates on project status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop positive relationships with clients to support ongoing project opportunities.
  • Oversee and manage tools and equipment on site to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental policies, prioritising the safety of both clients and team members.
  • Submit weekly progress reports to the Project Engineer and Project Manager.

 

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 in electrical installation, or equivalent.
  • Solid experience in containment and cabling installations for fire systems.
  • Proven track record in commercial environments.
  • Holder of the 17th or 18th Edition Electrical qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledgeable on key fire standards, including BS 5839 Pt 1, BS 6266 Pt 1, and BS 7273.
  • FIA training completed, specifically Units 1 (Fire Detection Design) and 4 (Installation and Testing).
  • Possession of CSCS / ECS / SSSTS or similar certifications.
  • IPAF & PASMA certifications required.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
