About the Client:

  • Our client, specialists in the Fire and Security industry, are seeking a hardworking and passionate Technician based around the South East area to join their team on a permanent basis.

 

The Role:

  • The maintenance of electronic Digital/Analogue addressable and conventional Fire detection and alarm systems and associated equipment.
  • Taking an active part in the on-call system.
  • Comply with policies relating to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Technical Compliance issues that affect the customer and employees.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the Company Safety Manual.
  • Work in a cost effective and efficient manner, ensuring that all systems worked upon are operational.
  • Wear company issued clothing at all times.
  • Attend any training courses that the company deems necessary.
  • Carry out any other reasonable task as requested by Management.

 

Qualities Required:

  • Educated to City & Guilds or equivalent for the maintenance of electrical/electronic systems.
  • FIA Module Unit 1 (FD&A system Basic Design) or equivalent.
  • FIA Module Unit 5 (FD&A Maintenance) or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to service and repair Fire Detection and Gas Extinguishing systems.
  • Proven experience of working within a similar role or environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (BS5839 2017 Fire detection and alarm BS6266 Fire protection for electronic equipment installations)
  • Diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination and/or technical recommendations.
  • Health & Safety Trained.
  • Personable and approachable.
  • Have good behavioural attitude.
  • Smart presentable appearance.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and embrace procedures.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Proven communication and numeric skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • A team player with ability to work on own initiative.
