About the Role:
Due to ongoing growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we are looking to hire multiple experienced Fire Design Engineers to join an expanding team in Central London. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to work on a range of high-profile projects, with a focus on fire systems, electrical integration, and various suppression technologies.
This is a hybrid position, with flexible working from home and 2–3 days per week in a Central London office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS5839 and other relevant standards
- Prepare system schematics, layout drawings, and technical documentation
- Integrate fire system designs with electrical systems, water mist and suppression systems, and gas suppression where applicable
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, and contractors to deliver technically sound and fully compliant designs
- Conduct site visits and support projects from concept through to completion
- Ensure all designs meet industry legislation, safety standards, and client specifications
- Take part in internal design reviews and contribute to ongoing improvements
- Keep abreast of new technologies, regulations, and industry practices
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Fire Design Engineer role, ideally with electrical systems knowledge
- Strong understanding of BS5839, BS7671, and other applicable standards
- Experience in designing water mist and water suppression systems
- Familiarity with gas suppression systems is a strong advantage
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and relevant design software (e.g., Amtech, Hyena, or similar)
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities
- Must be able to commute to Central London on a hybrid working basis
- FIA certification (Modules 1, 4, and 5) is highly desirable
