Are you an experienced Fire Protection Designer looking for a new opportunity? We have a fantastic position available for a skilled professional like you! Our Client seeks candidates to serve as the company’s Fire Protection Designer / Project Manager, providing design, drafting and technical review of new projects. This position will also serve as project manager for assigned installation projects, working with customer, internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure a smooth and timely completion of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create site designs for installation of the systems in high-risk application environments.
- Develop product or system concepts and draft detailed designs as required.
- Maintain records of design processes in accordance with sound design practices.
- Manage and coordinate installation projects.
- Coordinate safety and regulatory compliance activities.
- Prepare and write detailed product, technical and operational reports as warranted.
- Conduct research, analyze and recommend product improvements to improve system design and effectiveness.
- Provide documentation supporting client’s permitting activities indicating conformance to NFPA and local code standards.
- Determine the best solution, based on the issue and details provided by customers or local code officers.
- Identify and suggest possible improvements for products, procedures and system operation.
- Interact and assist the R & D/Product Improvement Processes.
Key Requirements:
- Three years of work experience in fire safety/system design is required.
- Ability to multi-task, including directing staff, mentoring others, producing documents and coordinating with other trades and third-party vendors.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven fire protection system design skills.
- Proven project management skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- A working knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- A good understanding of fire detection and suppression equipment and products.
- Strong organization skills.
- US citizenship required.
- A willingness to travel within North America.
