Security Install & Commissioning Engineer
South / permanent / £35,000 Per annum
Security Commissioning & Installation Engineer | South / South East (UK-wide travel required) | Circa £45,000 OTE + Company Van/Car + Laptop + Benefits
The Security Commissioning & Installation Engineer will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and handing over security systems to the highest standard, ensuring projects are completed snag-free, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission intruder alarms, CCTV (IP and analogue), access control, EAS, and bespoke security systems.
- Work within project deadlines, identifying risks to delivery and escalating where necessary.
- Carry out system handovers, including client demonstrations and training.
- Complete documentation in line with NSI and company requirements using tablets or paperwork.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and BS5839 standards.
- Maintain accurate timesheets and project records.
- Undertake relevant training as required to maintain knowledge and compliance.
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive customer information.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience working on CCTV, intruder, and access control projects.
- Knowledge of Honeywell Galaxy Intruder, ACT, Honeywell Access Control, and analogue/IP CCTV systems (advantageous).
- Strong technical ability to install, commission, and program systems.
- Previous experience in retail security environments (desirable).
- Familiarity with integrating detection and CCTV into wider disciplines (advantageous).
- Network/IP-based product experience.

- Able to work independently, managing time and priorities effectively.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and Health & Safety practices.
- Flexible attitude with willingness to travel across the UK and stay overnight when required.
- ECS/CSCS card.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Professional, proactive, and self-motivated team player.
Desirable Qualifications:
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification (or willingness to achieve).
- Relevant security qualifications.
- Supervisory or project delivery experience.
Rewards & Benefits
- Circa £45,000 OTE (inclusive of basic pay, London Waiting Allowance if applicable, travel time, overtime, etc.).
- 33 days holiday per annum (25 days + 8 bank holidays).
- 40 hours per week, with overtime paid at time and a half, and double time where applicable.
- Night work (from 10pm onwards) paid at time and a half.
