About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer to join a leading fire protection team. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of BS EN 12845 (with NFPA & FM Global experience highly advantageous) and the ability to resolve technical challenges on a day-to-day basis.

This is a key role requiring both technical expertise and strong client-facing skills. You will be involved in the full design process, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard, on time, and fully compliant with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure designs fully adhere to client and insurer requirements at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with the project team to deliver designs within required timescales and technical submission standards.
  • Produce detailed drawings and calculations in compliance with fire sprinkler system standards.
  • Prepare and compile technical documentation to support tender submissions.
  • Conduct site surveys, collating the necessary information prior to design.
  • Complete ISO-9001 project paperwork accurately and on time.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the fire sprinkler industry.
  • LPCB Basic certification (mandatory).
  • LPCB Intermediate or LPCB FHC (advantageous but not essential).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (essential).
  • Strong background in site surveys, client meetings, and supporting installations.
  • CSCS card (desirable).
  • Full UK Driving Licence – while primarily office-based, travel is required for site surveys and client meetings.

Personal Qualities:

  • Excellent customer care and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Professional approach with the confidence to represent the company directly to clients.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
