Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer | West Midlands | £50,000 upwards (DOE)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer to join a leading fire protection team. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of BS EN 12845 (with NFPA & FM Global experience highly advantageous) and the ability to resolve technical challenges on a day-to-day basis.
This is a key role requiring both technical expertise and strong client-facing skills. You will be involved in the full design process, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard, on time, and fully compliant with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure designs fully adhere to client and insurer requirements at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the project team to deliver designs within required timescales and technical submission standards.
- Produce detailed drawings and calculations in compliance with fire sprinkler system standards.
- Prepare and compile technical documentation to support tender submissions.
- Conduct site surveys, collating the necessary information prior to design.
- Complete ISO-9001 project paperwork accurately and on time.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the fire sprinkler industry.
- LPCB Basic certification (mandatory).
- LPCB Intermediate or LPCB FHC (advantageous but not essential).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (essential).
- Strong background in site surveys, client meetings, and supporting installations.
- CSCS card (desirable).
- Full UK Driving Licence – while primarily office-based, travel is required for site surveys and client meetings.
