Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer
Location: Hybrid (West Midlands + UK-wide travel and remote working)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Additional Benefits: Car allowance (subject to successful completion of probationary period), company pension scheme, mobile phone and laptop.
Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK trade association seeking a proactive and target-driven Membership Executive. This is a field-based, relationship-focused role responsible for driving membership growth and engagement across the UK.
The position combines managing warm pipeline leads and existing members with actively identifying and securing new business. You will spend a significant amount of time out meeting prospects face-to-face, attending team meetings, visiting member organisations, and building relationships on the ground.
Purpose of the Role
To support the organisation’s membership growth and engagement strategy by managing recruitment, onboarding and retention activity, ensuring members receive clear value and return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Recruitment

Work towards agreed growth targets and budgets.

Forecast membership growth and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

Follow up inbound and existing leads, pre-qualify prospects and process applications.

Proactively identify and approach new organisations through field visits, networking and outreach activity.
Onboarding & Engagement

Deliver a smooth and professional onboarding experience.

Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing members.

Conduct regular check-ins and face-to-face visits to ensure continued engagement and satisfaction.
Data & Intelligence

Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline tracking.

Gather and interpret member feedback and insights.

Report on KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement of membership benefits.
Collaboration

Work closely with Marketing to align campaigns and support promotional initiatives.

Support events and industry activities as required.
Administration

Ensure timely fee collection and accurate record keeping.

Maintain compliance with internal processes and reporting requirements.
Skills & Experience

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Self-motivated and comfortable working to targets in a field-based role.

Organised, with the ability to manage a varied and active pipeline.

Experience using CRM systems and reporting tools.

Background in membership services, account management, business development or a similar commercial role.

Full UK driving licence.
