Operations Lead | Nottingham | £40,000-£45,000 + Bonus
The Role
The Operations Lead will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient delivery of IoT devices — from sourcing components through to assembly, testing, and final shipment. This is a hands-on, execution-focused position with full ownership of day-to-day operations, alongside a continuous improvement mindset to support scaling.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
- Manage component purchasing in line with demand forecasts and inventory levels
- Act as the primary contact for supplier communications
- Quickly resolve supply chain issues to minimise disruption
- Track supplier performance, including lead times and reliability
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records across systems
- Monitor stock levels and trigger replenishment as required
- Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts
- Ensure alignment between physical inventory and system data
Assembly, Testing & Production Support
- Coordinate and support device assembly operations
- Ensure all products meet required quality and testing standards
- Maintain assembly documentation and operational checklists
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce errors and delays
Fulfilment & Logistics
- Oversee picking, packing, and dispatch of customer orders
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery performance
- Liaise with courier partners and track shipments
- Resolve fulfilment and delivery issues proactively
Operational Improvement
- Identify and implement practical, incremental process improvements
- Support the development of SOPs and operational documentation
- Highlight recurring issues and inefficiencies
- Contribute to building scalable systems and processes
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in Operations, Supply Chain, or Production Management within a product-led or technology-enabled environment
- Hands-on experience across procurement, inventory, production/assembly, and fulfilment
- Strong process improvement capability, with experience implementing scalable workflows
- Ability to analyse operational data and support forecasting activities
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within a start-up or scaling business environment
- Exposure to cost control and operational budgeting
