Mechanical Estimator – Hybrid | Castleford

Role Overview
We’re seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support the delivery of accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders within a busy M&E environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across project and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical cost estimates, material take-offs, and cost breakdowns
• Review and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Support the full tender process, including bid preparation and project handover
• Analyse market rates, benchmark data, and project risks to ensure accurate pricing
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams and external partners
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the estimating function

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience within mechanical estimating or a similar role
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of M&E project delivery
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths (required)
• HNC/BTEC in Construction or Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
• Degree or chartership (advantageous)
