Role: Senior Fire Engineer
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + travel, on-call & overtime (OTE £50,000 – £60,000)

Overview:
Our client, a well-established provider of life safety and security solutions, is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join their growing Fire & Life Safety team. This is a hands-on, senior-level role where you’ll act as the on-site technical lead, handling complex commissioning, fault diagnosis, and supporting the development of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commission and configure addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
• Carry out advanced fault finding and resolve complex technical issues
• Programme system logic, cause & effect, and networked panels
• Produce accurate technical reports and commissioning documentation
• Work across leading systems including Gent, Advanced, Ziton, Morley, and Kentec
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and on-the-job training
• Ensure compliance with British Standards and internal quality processes
• Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Deliver professional on-site support to clients and stakeholders

• Experienced Fire Engineer operating at a senior level
• Strong background in commissioning and fault-finding complex systems
• Confident with system programming, diagnostics, and multiple platforms
• Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail
• Proactive, accountable, and committed to high-quality delivery
