Role Summary

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Smoke Ventilation Service Engineer to join a growing Passive Fire team. This site-based role is critical to ensuring the reliability, safety, and compliance of smoke ventilation systems across varied building types. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain smoke ventilation systems, including AOVs, control panels, and pressure systems
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to restore full system functionality
  • Conduct inspections and testing in line with BS EN 12101 and relevant fire safety standards
  • Complete service reports, compliance documentation, and customer feedback forms accurately
  • Liaise with clients and site teams to coordinate access and communicate findings
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations
  • Support commissioning and handover of new smoke ventilation installations
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and stock levels to ensure site readiness

Key Requirements / Skills

Essential

  • Experience servicing smoke ventilation or fire safety systems
  • Strong knowledge of BS 7346, BS EN 12101, and Approved Document B
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Electrical or mechanical qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds)
  • Experience within commercial and/or residential environments
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification
