Security Systems Engineer (Field-Based) – Midlands
£28,000 – £35,000 + Uncapped Overtime + On-Call (1 in 3)

We are working with a growing client in the fire and security sector who is looking to add a Security Systems Engineer to their field-based engineering team across the Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with at least three years’ experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and expanding business, while remaining hands-on in service, maintenance, and small works.

The Role

You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and fault-finding of a range of electronic security systems, alongside occasional small installation projects. The role will involve both planned and reactive work, with a strong focus on delivering high levels of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and fault-find on electronic security systems
  • Attend reactive callouts and complete planned preventative maintenance visits
  • Plan and manage routine and emergency service calls
  • Carry out small works installations, including commissioning
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with customers
  • Ensure vehicle stock levels are effectively managed
  • Assist with site surveys and installation handovers
  • Support resolution of technical issues, including problematic sites
  • Provide technical input to support quotations when required
  • Assist with planning PPM schedules on larger or more complex sites
  • Take ownership of customer relationships and service delivery
  • Attend training sessions and team meetings as required
  • Be available for overtime and weekend work when needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the security systems industry (service and/or installation)
  • Good understanding of electronic security systems and their installation/maintenance
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Working Hours & Benefits
