Security Systems Engineer (Field-Based) – Midlands
£28,000 – £35,000 + Uncapped Overtime + On-Call (1 in 3)
We are working with a growing client in the fire and security sector who is looking to add a Security Systems Engineer to their field-based engineering team across the Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with at least three years’ experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and expanding business, while remaining hands-on in service, maintenance, and small works.
The Role
You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and fault-finding of a range of electronic security systems, alongside occasional small installation projects. The role will involve both planned and reactive work, with a strong focus on delivering high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and fault-find on electronic security systems
- Attend reactive callouts and complete planned preventative maintenance visits
- Plan and manage routine and emergency service calls
- Carry out small works installations, including commissioning
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers
- Ensure vehicle stock levels are effectively managed
- Assist with site surveys and installation handovers
- Support resolution of technical issues, including problematic sites
- Provide technical input to support quotations when required
- Assist with planning PPM schedules on larger or more complex sites
- Take ownership of customer relationships and service delivery
- Attend training sessions and team meetings as required
- Be available for overtime and weekend work when needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the security systems industry (service and/or installation)
- Good understanding of electronic security systems and their installation/maintenance
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK Driving Licence
