We are currently recruiting for an experienced and hands-on Operations Lead playing a key role in the delivery, performance, and lifecycle management of client systems. This is a dynamic position combining client ownership, operational oversight, and technical involvement, ideal for someone who enjoys being both strategic and on-site.
The Role
As Operations Lead, you will take full ownership of a portfolio of client systems, ensuring all service, maintenance, and project work is delivered to a consistently high standard. This is not a desk-based role—you’ll be regularly on-site, working closely with engineers and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Client Ownership & Relationship Management
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients
- Build and maintain long-term, trusted client relationships
- Develop a deep understanding of client systems, risks, and operational needs
Operational Delivery
- Oversee service inspections, remedial works, and project delivery
- Ensure all works are effectively planned and executed
- Provide hands-on support to engineers on-site when required
System Lifecycle Management
- Maintain full visibility of systems across your portfolio
- Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and implement long-term system strategies
Engineering Coordination
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams
- Support and guide engineers in the field
- Ensure the right resources are allocated to each job
Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate service schedules and project timelines
- Work alongside Operations Engineers to ensure seamless delivery
Commercial Awareness
- Identify opportunities for additional works or system improvements
- Support the preparation of quotations and proposals
Collaboration & Standards
- Partner with the Senior Lead Engineer to maintain technical standards and compliance
- Contribute to technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives
New Client Onboarding
- Assist with site surveys and asset capture
- Help define inspection and maintenance strategies for new systems
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong background in fire systems or a related technical field
- Experience in operations or project management
- Solid understanding of inspection and maintenance processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
- Experience within industrial environments
- Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. BS standards)
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience
