Role Summary
The M&E Technical Assurance Manager will be responsible for assuring the delivery and performance of hard services maintenance provided by a designated supply chain partner for a high-end client portfolio. Acting as the technical authority, the role ensures all mechanical and electrical services are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the required quality standards across multiple sites.This position plays a critical role in protecting asset integrity, resolving complex technical issues, and maintaining strong relationships with both the client and service provider. Success in the role requires strong HVAC knowledge, broad building services expertise, and a hands-on, solutions-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assurance and oversight of M&E maintenance delivery by an appointed service provider across a multi-site portfolio
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for mechanical and electrical matters, including HVAC systems
- Monitor contractor performance against SLAs, KPIs, statutory compliance, and client standards
- Review maintenance strategies, PPM regimes, and reactive works to ensure best practice and value
- Attend site regularly to carry out inspections, audits, and technical reviews
- Lead technical problem solving for complex or recurring issues, ensuring root cause resolution
- Support the management of lifecycle planning, asset condition, and remedial works
- Review and challenge RAMS, technical proposals, and variations
- Provide technical input to client meetings and produce clear, professional reports
- Participate in an out-of-hours escalation rota to support emergency situations as required
Key Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Strong background in HVAC with a broader mechanical and electrical building services skill set
- Proven experience in a technical assurance, technical management, or senior engineering role
- Solid understanding of statutory compliance and building services best practice
- Experience overseeing or managing outsourced maintenance providers
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving capability
- Confident communicator able to challenge suppliers constructively and professionally
- Willingness to travel across London, the wider UK, and occasionally Dublin and Prague
- Comfortable participating in out-of-hours emergency call support
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications
- Experience working with high-end commercial or corporate client environments
- Exposure to client-side or consultancy-style roles
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or similar health and safety qualification
Location & Work Pattern
- Hybrid role
- Approximately 3 days per week on site and 2 days working from home
- Sites primarily based in London, with travel across the UK and occasional international travel to Dublin and Prague
