Service Engineer (gas suppression/Ansul & small kitchen systems) | £40,000-50,000 + benefits | Field-based

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer specialising in gas suppression systems, Ansul systems, and small kitchen fire suppression systems to join our team. The role involves servicing, maintaining, fault-finding, and commissioning fire suppression systems across a range of commercial and industrial environments.

This is a field-based role requiring a proactive individual with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to high safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair:
  • Gas suppression systems (e.g. FM-200, Novec, CO2 systems)
  • Ansul kitchen suppression systems
  • Small kitchen fire suppression systems
• Carry out routine inspections in accordance with relevant standards and manufacturer guidelines
• Diagnose faults and carry out corrective works efficiently
• Commission new installations where required
• Ensure all systems comply with current regulations and certification requirements (e.g. BS EN standards)
• Complete accurate service reports, documentation, and certification
• Provide technical support and advice to customers on system operation and compliance
• Participate in an on-call rota for emergency callouts
• Maintain stock levels and ensure company vehicle is properly equipped

Key Requirements

Essential:

• Proven experience working on gas suppression systems and/or Ansul systems
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of fire protection standards and legislation
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and manage workload
• Good communication and customer-facing skills

Desirable:

• FIA or manufacturer certifications (e.g. Ansul, Kidde, Fike, etc.)
• Experience working in commercial kitchens, restaurants, or industrial environments
• Electrical or mechanical qualifications
• Knowledge of fire alarm or detection systems
