The Opportunity
We're currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing electronic security specialist seeking an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer looking to work across a diverse portfolio of sites, including commercial properties, public sector facilities, historic buildings, high-end residential estates, and large-scale private developments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a range of fire & security systems, ensuring clients receive a consistently high standard of service and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and fault-find on CCTV, intruder alarm, access control, and fire alarm systems.
- Carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance in line with industry standards and client requirements.
- Respond to service calls and diagnose faults across a variety of systems and manufacturers.
- Conduct annual maintenance visits and ensure all systems remain fully operational and compliant.
- Provide customers with system guidance and advice, including user training where required.
- Complete service documentation, site records, and reports accurately using digital management systems.
- Update site schematics and documentation when necessary.
- Maintain excellent client relationships and deliver a high level of customer service at all times.
About You
Essential
- Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire and/or electronic security systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good working knowledge of CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, and fire alarm systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota (1 week in every 4).
Desirable
- Experience working with systems such as Avigilon, Texecom, AJAX, Advanced, or similar manufacturers.
- Multi-disciplined experience across both fire and security systems.
- Knowledge of current industry standards and regulations.
- Experience using digital job management software.
