The Opportunity

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing life safety systems specialist seeking a motivated Life Safety Systems Engineer to join their field engineering team.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a range of blue-chip and public sector clients across the South East, carrying out maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, and small modifications to life safety systems. The company is known for investing heavily in training and development, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to further their career within the fire and life safety sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, and minor modifications to life safety systems.
  • Complete electronic service reports and documentation accurately and in line with company procedures.
  • Deliver high standards of customer service while working across a variety of client sites.
  • Participate in an emergency call-out rota following successful completion of probation.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant British Standards and industry regulations.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Minimum 1 year's experience maintaining and fault-finding life safety systems.
  • Experience working on fire alarm systems and associated life safety equipment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 3 penalty points).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.

Desirable

  • FIA, IFEDA, City & Guilds, or equivalent industry qualifications.
  • Experience with Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Siemens, Protec, Notifier, Morley, Apollo, Hochiki, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of emergency lighting, voice alarm systems, and life safety compliance standards.
  • Gent Engineer Licence.
