The Opportunity
We're recruiting on behalf of a respected and growing life safety systems specialist seeking a Lead Life Safety Systems Engineer to join their field engineering team.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of blue-chip and public sector clients, carrying out maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, commissioning, and minor system modifications across a range of life safety systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high standards of service while benefiting from ongoing training, career development, and excellent earning potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, commissioning, and small modifications to life safety systems.
- Diagnose and resolve system and cable faults efficiently.
- Complete electronic service reports and documentation accurately and in line with British Standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service across a variety of commercial and public sector sites.
- Participate in the emergency call-out rota (currently 1 week in 7) following successful probation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with industry regulations and company procedures.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' experience maintaining, fault-finding, modifying, and commissioning life safety systems.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and associated life safety equipment.
- Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 3 penalty points).
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop.
Desirable
- FIA, IFEDA, City & Guilds, ONC, or equivalent industry qualifications.
- Experience with Gent, Advanced, Apollo, Hochiki, Kentec, Siemens, Protec, Notifier, Morley, C-TEC, or similar systems.
- Gent Engineer Licence.
- Knowledge of emergency lighting, voice alarm systems, and life safety compliance requirements.
