Fire Alarm Installation Engineer

Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing fire and security specialist, is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join their expanding team. Due to continued business growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are looking to strengthen their installation division with a skilled and motivated professional.

This opportunity is ideal for a high-calibre engineer who takes pride in delivering quality installations, understands industry compliance requirements, and enjoys working on a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

The Role

As a Fire Alarm Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation of fire detection and alarm systems across a range of sites throughout London and the Home Counties.

Working both independently and alongside project teams, you will ensure all installations are completed to the highest standards, in compliance with current regulations and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
• Carrying out first and second fix installation works
• Installing containment, cabling, fire alarm devices, control panels, and associated equipment
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and system designs
• Ensuring all works comply with BS 5839-1 and relevant industry standards
• Conducting installation testing and supporting commissioning activities where required
• Completing installation records, documentation, and handover paperwork accurately
• Maintaining professional standards and client relationships on-site
• Adhering to all health and safety requirements and company procedures

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience installing fire alarm systems
• Strong knowledge of BS 5839-1 installation requirements
• Experience working with leading fire alarm manufacturers, including:
  • Advanced
  • Kentec
  • Morley
  • Gent
  • Notifier
  • Apollo
  • Hochiki
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• ECS/CSCS card (desirable)
• Manufacturer training and certifications (advantageous)
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
