Fire Alarm Service Engineer | £36,000-£42,000 base salary | London/South
You’ll service, maintain, and fault-find on fire alarm systems across London and the South. Working independently, you'll ensure systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational. Strong customer communication and accurate reporting are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
A long-established fire and life safety provider is expanding its engineering team in the Southern region. The business supports a range of commercial and education sites and offers a stable, well-structured, and supportive environment for field engineers.
You’ll service, maintain, and fault-find on fire alarm systems across London and the South. Working independently, you'll ensure systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational. Strong customer communication and accurate reporting are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete routine servicing and maintenance on fire alarm systems.
- Attend call-outs, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs or temporary fixes.
- Produce clear, accurate engineering reports and test records.
- Work in line with British Standards, site rules, RAMS, and internal procedures.
- Communicate clearly with customers about issues and next steps.
- Manage tools, equipment, van stock, and documentation effectively.
- Take part in the call-out rota.
- Proven experience servicing and fault-finding on fire alarm systems.
- Competent with major panels (e.g., GENT, Notifier, Advanced).
- Strong compliance, testing, and documentation skills.
- Professional, customer-focused approach.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Manufacturer training or additional certifications.
- Experience in a structured service organisation.
- Broader fire/life safety exposure.
- £36,000 - 45,000 base salary
- Enhanced overtime rates (1.5x standard, 2x Sundays)
