Network Implementation Specialist - LAN/WAN Infrastructure
Location:
Charleston, SC
Salary: Up to $120,000 + Benefits

Company Overview

Our client is a growing technology and infrastructure solutions provider delivering complex network deployments across federal, enterprise, and commercial environments throughout the United States. With an expanding project portfolio and a reputation for quality delivery, they offer the opportunity to work on varied, high-profile implementations while developing both technical and project delivery expertise.

Role Summary

This is a unique opportunity for a technically capable Network Implementation Specialist who enjoys seeing projects through from planning to deployment. While a solid networking background is important, the role is equally focused on coordinating equipment deliveries, managing documentation, overseeing subcontractors, and ensuring projects are successfully delivered on time and to specification.
The successful candidate will act as the bridge between engineering, logistics, vendors, customers, and field teams, ensuring every stage of the implementation process runs smoothly. This position combines hands-on network configuration with project coordination, quality assurance, and problem-solving across multiple concurrent projects.
Travel is required but will vary depending on project demands and is not expected to reach the levels typically associated with field engineering positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery, staging, deployment, and commissioning of network infrastructure projects across multiple customer sites.
  • Configure and program Cisco, Juniper, and Meraki networking equipment in a lab and office environment prior to deployment.
  • Manage project documentation, implementation plans, asset records, and customer deliverables.
  • Oversee logistics and shipping activities, ensuring equipment arrives on schedule and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Monitor quality control throughout project delivery and verify installations meet technical and customer standards.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, field technicians, and installation partners.
  • Support network implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
  • Conduct site assessments and assist with infrastructure surveys and deployment planning.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, customers, and vendors to resolve technical and operational challenges.
  • Produce as-built documentation, network diagrams, deployment reports, and project closeout documentation.
  • Identify and resolve project issues quickly, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to keep projects on track.

Essential Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in network deployment, implementation, infrastructure delivery, or a similar networking role.
  • Experience configuring and deploying Cisco, Juniper, and/or Meraki networking solutions.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
  • Experience coordinating technical projects, equipment deployment, or field implementation activities.
  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, or third-party installation teams.
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States as required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass background and security screening requirements.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience supporting federal, public sector, USPS, or Department of Defense projects.
  • Knowledge of wireless survey and assessment tools such as Ekahau.
  • Experience with network migration or refresh projects.
  • Familiarity with network security best practices.
  • CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, CWNA, or equivalent certifications.

Benefits & Package

  • Salary up to $120,000 depending on experience.
  • Health and vision benefits.
  • 401(k) programme.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Travel expenses and per diem covered.
  • Ongoing training and certification support.
  • Career progression opportunities within a growing organisation.
  • Exposure to diverse enterprise and federal infrastructure projects across the U.S.

Location & Work Pattern

  • Based in Charleston, SC.
  • Primarily office and project-based with occasional lab work.
  • Nationwide travel required based on project needs.
  • Travel levels vary throughout the year and are generally lower than a traditional field engineering role.

Why Apply?

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical networking expertise with project delivery, coordination, and problem-solving. If you're looking for a position where you can influence the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects without spending half your year on the road, this opportunity offers an excellent balance of technical challenge and project ownership.
