Fire & Security Service Engineer | Up to £45,000 base salary | Reading

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer based in the Reading area. The role is focused on reactive maintenance, fault-finding and PPMs across CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm and Intruder systems, with occasional national travel required. Door-to-door travel time is fully paid, and engineers participate in a 1-in-10-week call-out rota.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend reactive maintenance and service call-outs across customer sites.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on fire and security systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits.
• Service and maintain CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm and Intruder Alarm systems.
• Complete all service reports and documentation accurately.
• Ensure works are completed in line with industry standards and company procedures.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships on-site.
• Manage workload effectively whilst working independently.
• Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
• Maintain company equipment, tools and stock levels.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience within the fire and security industry.
• Strong service and maintenance background.
• Proven experience with:
  • CCTV Systems
  • Access Control Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Intruder Alarm Systems
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel nationally when required.

Desirable Requirements

• Relevant manufacturer training certifications.
• FIA, ECS or other industry-related qualifications.
• Experience working within leisure centres, commercial buildings or public sector environments.
• Knowledge of NSI standards and compliance requirements.
