Fire & Security Service Engineer | Up to £45,000 base salary | Reading
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer based in the Reading area. The role is focused on reactive maintenance, fault-finding and PPMs across CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm and Intruder systems, with occasional national travel required. Door-to-door travel time is fully paid, and engineers participate in a 1-in-10-week call-out rota.

Key Responsibilities
- Attend reactive maintenance and service call-outs across customer sites.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on fire and security systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits.
- Service and maintain CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm and Intruder Alarm systems.
- Complete all service reports and documentation accurately.
- Ensure works are completed in line with industry standards and company procedures.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships on-site.
- Manage workload effectively whilst working independently.
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
- Maintain company equipment, tools and stock levels.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the fire and security industry.
- Strong service and maintenance background.
- Proven experience with:
- CCTV Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Intruder Alarm Systems
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel nationally when required.
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant manufacturer training certifications.
- FIA, ECS or other industry-related qualifications.
- Experience working within leisure centres, commercial buildings or public sector environments.
- Knowledge of NSI standards and compliance requirements.
