Key Account Fire Alarm Engineer

The Opportunity

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join a specialist life safety engineering team covering Central London.

This is a senior-level engineering position suited to someone who is confident working independently on complex fire alarm and life safety systems within large, occupied buildings.

We’re particularly interested in engineers with strong experience of Gent Vigilon systems, together with a solid understanding of Cause & Effect (C&E) programming, networked fire alarm systems and fire strategies.

Key Skills & Systems

The successful candidate will ideally have strong experience with:

  • Gent Vigilon fire alarm systems
  • Cause & Effect (C&E) programming and testing
  • Interpreting and verifying Cause & Effect matrices
  • Networked fire alarm systems
  • Fire detection and life safety systems
  • Fire strategies and design intent
  • Fault finding and diagnostics on complex systems
  • Interface equipment and life safety interfaces
  • Fire alarm panels, field devices and power supplies
  • Working on live systems within occupied buildings

Key Responsibilities

As a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying complex and intermittent faults, including faults across networked systems.
  • Attending emergency callouts and carrying out effective fault diagnosis and rectification.
  • Replacing, configuring and programming field devices, panels, power supplies and interface equipment.
  • Interpreting Cause & Effect matrices and site fire strategies.
  • Testing and verifying system operation against the design intent and fire strategy.
  • Carrying out minor remedial works where required.
  • Working safely and professionally within occupied commercial buildings and complex live environments.
  • Providing clear technical feedback and maintaining accurate service documentation.
