Multi-Skilled Fire & Security Engineer (Security Biased) | Up to £48,000 | London and South East
Role Summary
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong security systems experience who is looking to further develop their fire alarm expertise. The successful candidate will carry out service, maintenance and fault-finding activities across a range of integrated security systems while receiving ongoing support and training within fire detection systems.This position offers excellent exposure to enterprise-level technology, varied client sites and long-term progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Security Systems
- Service and maintain enterprise-scale security systems.
- Diagnose and rectify faults across integrated security platforms.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits.
- Attend reactive call-outs and emergency breakdowns.
- Support commissioning and small works projects.
- Complete detailed service reports and documentation.
- Liaise professionally with clients, facilities teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
Fire Systems
- Assist with the service and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
- Develop technical competency on addressable fire alarm systems through structured training.
- Support fault finding and repair activities on fire detection systems.
- Assist with minor remedial works and system modifications.
- Progress towards independent fire alarm servicing and diagnosis.
- Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards and industry regulations.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience servicing and maintaining security systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
- Fire alarm experience.
- Knowledge of addressable fire alarm systems.
- Relevant security industry qualifications.
- Experience with integrated electronic security solutions.
