Service & Small Works Engineer (fire) | £40,000 - £45,000 basic (flexibility for more senior candidates) | Oxford
The role will focus primarily on fire alarm servicing, fault finding, maintenance, remedial works, and small project installations. This position would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys working independently while maintaining high standards of customer service and technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm systems.
- Diagnose and rectify faults across a variety of fire alarm systems.
- Complete remedial works and small project installations.
- Produce accurate service reports and documentation.
- Liaise with clients, site managers, and other stakeholders on-site.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers where required.
- Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicle to a professional standard.
Essential Requirements
- Strong experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
- Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience carrying out PPM and remedial works.
- Ability to manage workload independently.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with CCTV, access control, or intruder alarm systems.
- FIA qualifications or manufacturer certifications.
- Experience working across commercial and residential environments.
- Small works installation experience.
