Fire & Security Projects Co-Ordinator / Junior Project Manager

Location: Office-based
Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE

An opportunity to take the next step into Project Management.

Are you currently working within the Fire & Security industry and looking for an opportunity to progress your career into Project Management?

We are working with an established and growing business that is looking to bring a Projects Co-Ordinator / Junior Project Manager into their Projects Team.

This is not a role where you need to be a fully-fledged Project Manager already. In fact, the company is specifically looking for someone with the right industry experience and attitude who they can develop and train into a successful Project Manager.

You could be coming from a Fire & Security Engineering, Project Co-ordination, Supervisory or similar background, and feel ready to take that next step.

What will you be doing?

You will join an experienced Projects Team and progressively take ownership of your own projects.

Initially, you will be responsible for smaller fire and security projects, managing them from handover through to completion. You will be given the support and guidance needed to build your project management skills and confidence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
  • Planning and coordinating engineers, subcontractors, materials and resources.
  • Managing project programmes and key milestones.
  • Liaising directly with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with engineers and internal teams to ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Managing project documentation, variations and completion paperwork.
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying potential issues.
  • Attending meetings and providing project updates.
  • Dealing with day-to-day project queries and resolving issues.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Gradually taking responsibility for larger and more complex projects as your experience develops.

Who are they looking for?

The key thing is potential.

You don't need years of Project Management experience. The business is looking for someone who understands the Fire & Security sector, is organised, commercially aware and wants to develop.

You might currently be:

  • A Fire & Security Engineer looking to move into project management.
  • A Senior Engineer or Supervisor ready for a new challenge.
  • A Projects Co-Ordinator wanting to take on more responsibility.
  • Working in a technical or operational role and looking for a clear route into PM.

What matters most is that you're organised, proactive and confident dealing with people, and genuinely want to build a career in Project Management.

Why Consider It?

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with Fire & Security industry experience who is ready to take their first step into Project Management.

You’ll have the opportunity to manage your own smaller projects, with support and training from an experienced Projects Team, with a clear pathway to progress into a fully-fledged Project Manager.
