Fire Systems Maintenance Engineer | Up to £34,320 basic | Wales and South East
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Systems Maintenance Engineer to join a highly regarded service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs across a range of fire detection systems.The role is ideally suited to an engineer with strong technical knowledge who enjoys working independently while delivering an exceptional service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on fire detection systems
- Service and maintain Gent, Notifier, C-TEC, Advanced and air sampling systems
- Diagnose and rectify system faults efficiently
- Complete inspections and testing in line with current regulations
- Produce accurate maintenance reports and service documentation
- Ensure customer sites remain compliant and operational
- Work on complex multi-networked fire alarm systems
- Provide technical support and advice to customers on-site
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota
- Maintain high levels of customer service and professionalism
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining fire alarm systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Experience with commercial fire detection systems
- Knowledge of networked fire alarm systems
- Familiarity with Gent, Notifier, C-TEC, Advanced or air sampling systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to obtain and maintain high-level security clearance
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience with Gent systems
- FIA qualifications or equivalent certifications
- Experience in high-security environments

- Basic salary: £32,000 - £34,320
- OTE: £40,300 - £42,900

- Typically only 2-3 call-outs per year
- Standby payment of £180 per week on call
- Call-out payment of £20 weekdays and £40 weekends
- Overtime paid at:
- Time and a half between 5pm and 10pm
- Double time for weekend work
