Our client, a growing and well-established specialist security business, is looking to appoint an experienced Security Project Manager to join their team and take responsibility for the successful delivery of security system projects ranging from medium-sized installations through to enterprise-level CCTV and Access Control deployments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced security professional looking to take the next step in their career within a busy, expanding organisation, working on technically diverse projects for a varied client base.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in the electronic security industry and experience managing projects from initial planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover. You will be comfortable working with both direct clients and main contractors, managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation through to completion and handover.
- Take ownership of project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope and within budget.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, typically ranging from £15,000 to £100,000.
- Coordinate internal teams, engineers, subcontractors and other project resources.
- Plan and manage installation activities across multiple UK locations.
- Carry out regular site visits and oversee project delivery on site.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, main contractors and other stakeholders.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, schedules and progress reports.
- Identify, assess and proactively manage project risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed specifications and client requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety legislation, company procedures and industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RAMS, programmes, reports and handover documentation.
- Support commercial performance through effective cost control, resource management and monitoring of project profitability.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning and final project handover.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in project delivery and client service.

- Intruder Detection Systems (IDS)
- Public Address (PA) Systems
- Intercom Systems
- Radio Systems
- IP Networks
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- You do not necessarily need to be an expert across every technology, but you should have sufficient technical understanding to effectively manage projects, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, and communicate confidently with clients and contractors.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Security Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years' project management experience within the electronic security industry.
You will ideally have:
- 5+ years' experience managing electronic security projects.
- Proven experience managing small to mid-level projects through to completion.
- Experience working with both direct clients and main contractors.
- Strong technical understanding of electronic security systems.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Commercial awareness, including experience with project costs, variations and profitability.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
- A professional and client-focused approach.
- The flexibility to travel nationwide on a regular basis.
- A full UK driving licence.
Candidates who are currently working as a Security Project Manager, Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer or similar and have the relevant project delivery experience are encouraged to apply.
Clients & Project Environments
The role will provide exposure to a varied client base and a broad range of environments, including:
- Retail and high-end retail
- Media
- Commercial
