The Opportunity

Our client is a growing specialist security business looking for an experienced and self-driven Security Project Manager to manage the successful delivery of smaller-scale electronic security projects across the UK.

This role would suit a security professional with 2+ years' experience in security project management who enjoys being hands-on, managing projects from start to finish and working closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors and contractors.

Projects will typically range from £1,000 to £10,000, covering a variety of commercial, retail, media, logistics and other business environments.

The successful candidate will take ownership of their projects from initial planning through to installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring each project is delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of security projects from initial instruction through to completion and handover.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically ranging from £1,000 to £10,000.
  • Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Plan installation activities and coordinate site attendance.
  • Carry out site visits as required to support project delivery.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout the project.
  • Liaise with main contractors, site teams and other stakeholders where required.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within agreed scope and within budget.
  • Monitor project costs and support effective commercial management.
  • Identify and resolve project issues quickly and effectively.
  • Manage variations and additional works where required.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, schedules and progress reports.
  • Ensure appropriate RAMS, permits and health & safety requirements are in place.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning and system handover.
  • Ensure all project documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and client satisfaction.

Systems & Technologies

Projects will involve a range of electronic security and associated systems, including:

  • CCTV
  • Access Control Systems (ACS)
  • Intruder Detection Systems (IDS)
  • Intercom Systems
  • Public Address (PA) Systems
  • Radio Systems
  • IP Networks
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)

The successful candidate should have a good working knowledge of electronic security systems and be confident coordinating engineers and subcontractors across different technologies.

About You

We are looking for a Security Project Manager with a minimum of 2 years' experience within the electronic security industry.

You will ideally have:

  • 2+ years' experience in security project management or a closely related project delivery role.
  • Experience delivering smaller-scale security projects, ideally in the £1,000–£10,000 range.
  • Experience managing projects from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Experience working with both direct clients and main contractors.
  • A good technical understanding of electronic security systems.
  • Experience coordinating engineers and subcontractors.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of project costs.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Confidence working remotely with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide as required.
  • A full UK driving licence.
