We are seeking a Fire Alarm Service & Fault Finding Engineer to support several major healthcare facilities across Frimley, Wexham, and surrounding sites. This role focuses heavily on fault diagnosis, investigation, testing, and system performance rather than routine servicing. You will work on large, networked fire alarm systems containing thousands of devices and play a key role in maintaining the safety and operational integrity of critical hospital environments.

The successful candidate will work independently and as part of small engineering teams, taking ownership of planned works and contributing to the ongoing reliability of complex fire detection networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and rectify faults across large-scale, networked fire alarm systems.
  • Carry out testing, commissioning support, and system verification activities.
  • Program and configure fire alarm systems as required.
  • Investigate network communication faults and device failures.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance where required.
  • Produce accurate service reports and documentation.
  • Manage and organise daily workloads across assigned sites.
  • Liaise with site management and key stakeholders to coordinate works.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant fire safety standards and company procedures.
  • Support colleagues on larger projects and complex fault-finding activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience servicing and fault finding on fire alarm systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with networked fire alarm systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm testing, programming, and commissioning principles.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within healthcare or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of large-scale fire alarm networks with high device counts.
  • FIA qualifications or equivalent industry certifications.
  • Experience with advanced addressable fire alarm systems.

Benefits & Package

  • Salary: £36,000 - £45,000 DOE
  • Overtime available
    • 1.5x rate for evening overtime
    • 2x rate for weekend overtime
  • Company vehicle (Skoda Octavia Estate)
  • Private use of company vehicle permitted
  • No company car tax benefit charge (private mileage declared and charged at 35p per mile)
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Paid travel after the first and last 30 minutes of each day, paid at 1.5x rate
  • High levels of autonomy and flexibility
  • Opportunity to work on some of the largest and most advanced fire alarm networks in the region
