We're currently partnering with a well-established and growing security systems integrator to recruit an experienced Security Systems Designer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected business delivering high-quality electronic security solutions across commercial, industrial, and public sector environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of integrated security systems, supporting projects from initial site survey through to technical handover. Working alongside sales teams, project managers, engineers, and end clients, you'll ensure designs are technically robust, commercially viable, and compliant with industry standards.
The Role
As a Security Systems Designer, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting site surveys and assessments to gather design requirements.
- Producing detailed system designs, schematics, and CAD drawings for CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
- Preparing technical documentation, bills of materials, and tender submissions.
- Supporting client meetings, technical reviews, and design presentations.
- Working closely with installation and project teams to ensure designs are delivered accurately on site.
- Providing technical support throughout project delivery.
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant British Standards and industry regulations.
- Maintaining accurate design records and controlled documentation.
What We're Looking For
To be considered for this position, you'll ideally have:
Essential
- Previous experience designing electronic security systems.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm technologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Good understanding of relevant British Standards and security industry requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working with Revit, Navisworks, or BIM environments.
- Knowledge of NSI and/or SSAIB standards.
- Project management experience or qualifications.
- Membership of professional security organisations.
- Experience delivering projects within public sector, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated environments.
