As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing mechanical building services projects from initial handover through to completion. Project values typically range from £1,000 up to £2 million.
You will take ownership of the successful delivery of projects, coordinating site activities, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing mechanical building services projects from initial handover through to completion. Project values typically range from £1,000 up to £2 million.
You will take ownership of the successful delivery of projects, coordinating site activities, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical projects ranging from £1k to £2m.
- Act as the main point of contact for all project delivery activities.
- Coordinate site activities between subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager to deliver projects in line with programme and budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, site teams and project stakeholders.
- Develop and manage project programmes alongside Site Managers.
- Procure subcontractors and place orders based on project take-offs.
- Coordinate mechanical services with other building disciplines, identifying and resolving clashes where required.
- Provide technical support throughout the construction phase to ensure successful delivery.
- Attend site progress meetings and produce progress reports when required.
- Prepare and manage project-specific Health & Safety documentation.
- Identify, manage and communicate project variations.
- Support the production of valuations and final accounts alongside the Contracts Manager.
- Compile Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and project documentation.
- Lead and coordinate construction teams throughout project delivery.
- Manage design development and design changes during construction.
- Review and coordinate construction drawings and technical submissions.
- Review subcontractor and internal Health & Safety documentation.
- Monitor project programmes and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Track project progress and manage deadlines.
- Attend and contribute to project progress meetings.
- Monitor engineering quality and installation standards.
- Coordinate procurement activities during construction.
- Assist in managing project valuations.
- Oversee commissioning programmes.
- Drive project completion, snagging and handover activities.
- Compile and issue Operation & Maintenance manuals.
- Maintain a high standard of written and verbal communication throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing mechanical building services projects.
- A minimum of five years' experience within a mechanical or building services trade background.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors and colleagues.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to take ownership of projects.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams.
- A commitment to delivering projects safely, on time and to a high standard.
- A Building Services qualification (or a willingness to work towards one) would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
