Role Summary
The Electrical Project Manager will take full ownership of projects from initial tender through to completion, ensuring successful delivery across technical, commercial and safety aspects. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically ranging from £20,000 to £4 million in value, coordinating internal teams and specialist subcontractors. This role is critical to maintaining project performance, cost control and client satisfaction. Success will be measured through safe delivery, financial management and programme adherence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full project lifecycle from tender handover to completion
  • Procure and manage supply chain partners and materials
  • Oversee electrical installations, testing and commissioning activities
  • Carry out design reviews and technical checks
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring quality and compliance
  • Take responsibility for project budgets, cost control and financial reporting
  • Implement and manage health and safety procedures on site
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures
  • Ensure environmental standards are maintained across projects
  • Plan works effectively and assess site requirements, including first aid provision
Key Requirements / Skills
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical industry experience
  • HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • City and Guilds Level 3 qualification
  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Qualified Supervisor experience
  • Proven project management experience within M and E installations
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety and risk management
  • Experience managing budgets and financial performance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working on government or public sector projects
  • High Voltage experience
  • Strong commercial awareness and procurement experience
Location and Work Pattern
  • Office based in Birmingham
  • Working hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Nationwide travel required depending on project location
