Procurement Manager

We are currently partnering with a successful and growing organisation to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager to join their senior leadership team at their Nottinghamshire headquarters.

This is a strategic and commercially focused opportunity for a procurement professional who can drive value across the supply chain while supporting business growth. The successful candidate will take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier management, inventory control, and fleet operations, ensuring the business continues to operate efficiently, cost-effectively, and with minimal operational risk.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, strengthening supplier relationships, delivering cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring the effective management of stock and fleet resources.

This role offers a broad remit and would suit an experienced Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer, or Supply Chain professional looking to make a significant impact within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, quality, and service levels.
  • Build strong supplier partnerships while monitoring performance, delivery, and compliance standards.
  • Review supplier agreements and undertake risk assessments to minimise commercial and operational exposure.
  • Approve purchase orders and ensure the timely procurement of goods and services.
  • Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or operational performance.
  • Produce procurement reports, KPI analysis, and commercial updates for senior management.
  • Manage the procurement of specialist subcontract labour to support project delivery and service operations.

Inventory & Operational Management

  • Oversee stock management across multiple locations to ensure operational efficiency while optimising inventory levels.
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and goods receipt systems to maintain accurate stock control and reporting.
  • Lead regular stock audits and ensure inventory accuracy across warehouse and remote sites.
  • Identify excess, obsolete, or slow-moving stock and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Work closely with finance and operational teams to improve purchasing and stock management processes.
  • Ensure all materials and products meet quality standards and operational requirements.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and support the purchasing team, ensuring workloads are effectively managed and priorities are achieved.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Coach and develop team members to support both individual and organisational growth.

Fleet Management

  • Manage company vehicle procurement, leasing, renewal, and disposal programmes.
  • Ensure fleet compliance, including vehicle licensing, insurance, servicing, and maintenance schedules.
  • Negotiate insurance, fuel, and maintenance agreements to achieve best commercial value.
  • Monitor fleet performance, utilisation, fuel consumption, and operational costs.
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, driver information, and compliance documentation.
  • Produce fleet performance and cost reports for senior leadership.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer, or Supply Chain Management position.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering measurable cost savings and procurement efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, and procurement systems.
  • Experience managing fleet operations and fleet compliance activities.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/procurement management systems.
