Service Manager – Gas & Heating | Sheffield | Up to £60,000 per annum (DOE)
As Service Manager you will lead the heating and gas-services team to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality maintenance and servicing across a portfolio of commercial and institutional accounts. The role combines technical oversight, team leadership and client-facing responsibilities to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and contract compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Service & Maintenance Oversight
Plan, prioritise and schedule maintenance, remedial works and service calls across multiple heating systems (boilers, ASHPs, gas installations), ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met. -
Team Leadership & Management
Supervise and support engineers and service coordinators: conduct performance reviews, provide technical guidance, manage recruitment/onboarding, and ensure health & safety compliance (RAMS, gas safety). -
Client & Contract Management
Build and maintain relationships with clients, attend client meetings, produce and review remedial works and maintenance quotations, manage warranties, recalls and service history audits. -
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all works comply with statutory regulations (gas-safe, H&S), internal standards and company procedures; implement quality-control audits and safety reviews. -
Commercial & Operational Efficiency
Monitor profitability, manage resource allocation, control costs, and support continuous improvement of service delivery standards.
Candidate Requirements

Proven experience in a similar Service Manager, Heating Manager or Senior Engineer role within the commercial gas/heating or HVAC sector.

Strong technical knowledge of gas-fired boilers, ASHPs, commercial heating systems and general HVAC — gas-safe qualifications preferred.

Demonstrable leadership and team-management skills, including planning, allocation and workforce coordination.

Excellent organisational, time-management and communication skills; able to manage dynamic workloads and multiple sites.

Commitment to health & safety, regulatory compliance, quality control and customer service standards.

Valid UK driving licence (preferred for site visits).
