Project Manager | North West / East

A well-established, multi-disciplinary building services contractor with a national footprint who design, supply, install, commission, service and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, heating, electrical and carbon-reduction systems across a wide variety of sectors — from healthcare and data centres to commercial offices and large-scale fit-outs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical project delivery: HVAC, ventilation, refrigeration, heating, chillers or HVAC-related electrical / mechanical services.
  • Develop and oversee mechanical designs (in conjunction with CAD/engineering team), ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and client specifications.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline project teams — mechanical engineers, HVAC installers, electrical, subcontractors — ensuring integrated delivery.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines and resource allocation; manage procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Liaise with clients, main contractors and stakeholders to ensure project requirements and quality standards are met.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance and quality control on site.
  • Provide support during commissioning, handover and ongoing maintenance if required.

Candidate Profile

Required

  • Strong mechanical / HVAC / building services background, with demonstrable experience in project management of mechanical/HVAC installations on commercial or industrial projects.
  • Experience managing projects from design through installation, commissioning and handover, ideally including large-scale HVAC / ventilation / chiller / refrigeration / heating systems.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications and compliance standards.
  • Good communication and stakeholder-management skills; ability to coordinate multiple disciplines.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to manage budgets and deadlines, and to adapt to varying project scopes across different sectors.
  • Willingness to travel to site locations across the UK.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with sustainable / low-carbon heating or HVAC solutions (e.g. heat pumps, energy-saving ventilation, low-GWP refrigerants).
  • Previous experience working in a national building-services / HVAC company environment.

What's on Offer

  • The opportunity to manage major mechanical/HVAC projects nationwide.
  • A supportive, multi-disciplinary team offering full design, installation, maintenance and sustainability services.
  • Work across a broad range of sectors — from hospitals and data centres to commercial offices and industrial facilities — allowing for varied and rewarding challenges.
  • Responsibility with real influence: from design decisions through to execution and maintenance.
  • Professional autonomy and opportunity to grow with a leading national contractor.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead and deliver complex mechanical/HVAC projects across the UK. You will be responsible for managing all mechanical aspects of projects — from planning and design through to installation, commissioning, handover and maintenance coordination.
