Commercial Gas Service Engineer
Warrington / permanent / £45,000 Per annum
Commercial Gas Engineer | North West | £45,000–£48,000 basic | OTE £60,000+ | Full-time | Permanent
Why Apply?
This role is ideal if you’re looking for:
- Stable, long-term work with reputable clients
- A business that prioritises quality and safety
- Strong earning potential without excessive pressure
- A supportive team environment where engineers are trusted and respected
I’m currently working with a well-established, B-Corp certified building services business that’s been operating successfully for over 35 years. Due to continued growth, they’re now looking to bring an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer into their close-knit team.
This is a great opportunity to join a company that genuinely values quality of work over volume, with a strong reputation across the North West and a stable, long-term client base.
The Company
You’ll be joining a respected engineering business delivering commercial heating and gas services across a diverse portfolio, including:
- Schools and university accommodation
- Public sector buildings and offices
- Industrial sites such as factories and warehouses
- Residential and managed properties
With a team of around 10 engineers, the culture is supportive, collaborative, and professional — no “churn and burn” approach here.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on position where you’ll be trusted to manage your own workload and deliver high standards on site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planned preventative maintenance on commercial heating and hot water systems
- Fault finding and repair of boilers, burners, and associated plant
- Attending reactive breakdowns (1-in-7 on-call rota)
- Working independently while representing the business professionally
- Following all RAMS and site-specific health & safety procedures
Importantly, this isn’t a KPI-heavy role — you’ll be given the time and support to do the job properly.
What They’re Looking For
Essential:
- Valid commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1 or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 or City & Guilds
- Gas Safe registered (ideally 2+ years)
- Full UK driving licence
- At least 4 years’ experience in commercial gas
Experience in:
- Commercial boilers and burners (diagnosis & repair)
- Gas-fired water heaters, warm air and radiant systems
- Working independently on client sites
Desirable (but not essential):
- LPG, OFTEC, IPAF, PASMA
- Oil systems experience
They’re looking for someone reliable, professional, and proud of their work — with a willingness to continue developing their skills.
If you’re a Commercial Gas Engineer based in the North West and open to hearing more, feel free to get in touch — I’d be happy to talk you through the role in more detail.
