Project Manager - Data Centre & Critical Infrastructure
Witham / permanent / £60,000 Per annum
Reporting to: DCCI Projects Director
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Data Centre & Critical Infrastructure sector, with a strong focus on mechanical fire protection systems.
The Role
You will take full ownership of projects from handover through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to scope. Acting as the key point of contact, you’ll coordinate design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover across multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review projects from both technical and commercial perspectives at handover
- Develop and manage project programmes, schedules, and cash flow forecasts
- Coordinate closely with design teams to deliver compliant technical drawings and approvals
- Oversee all project phases including planning, procurement, installation, and commissioning
- Maintain strict health & safety, quality, and compliance standards throughout
- Manage costs, margins, applications, and variations to ensure financial control
- Provide regular progress and financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Ensure smooth project close-out, including certification, documentation, and handover
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Mechanical Fire Project Management
- Strong knowledge of sprinkler and specialist suppression systems (LPCB preferred)
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g. BS EN 12845, NFPA, FM, VdS)
- Proven experience delivering multi-discipline projects
- Relevant technical qualifications (ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent)
- Health & Safety certifications (CSCS/ECS, SSSTS/SMSTS, IOSH)
- Proficiency in MS Office and project planning tools (e.g. MS Project, ASTA)
